CARE

Polymer clay is durable but needs to be treated with care. With the exception of Little Specks, which are waterproof, earrings should not be worn swimming or in the shower.

TO CLEAN JEWELLERY –

  • Use a soft, damp cloth or baby wipes.
  • Non-acetone nail polish remover may help remove stubborn marks on polymer clay beads.

STORING EARRINGS –

Buy a Little Henny Storage Box! Great for travel. Has 12 compartments. The best investment you’ll make for under $10.

PLEASE AVOID –

  • Placing earrings loose in your handbag as sharp items can scratch the surface, and the posts on earrings can bend.
  • Prolonged contact with water. Polymer clay is water resistant, but leather cord, metal/wood beads and earring adhesives are not designed for use in water.
  • Extreme heat
  • Wearing against clothing with non-colourfast dyes, delicates and woollens.
  • Contact with perfumes, deodorants, and hairsprays. This will increase chances of staining wooden and metal beads.

PLEASE NOTE –

  • Natural leather cord and raw wood beads are expected to take on a darker colour over time as they absorb your body oils. Most metal beads are plated only and may also change colour overtime. This ageing process will happen less quickly if necklaces are not worn in direct contact with the skin.
  • While polymer clay is non-toxic, for safety reasons DO NOT allow a child to suck or chew on them. Polymer clay is not designed for teething children.
  • Beads and earrings are a choking hazard so please store your jewellery safely out of reach when not in use. Items WILL NOT be repaired or replaced if damaged by the mistreatment of yourself or your child.

ALWAYS supervise children when making the kits, such as ‘I-Made-It-Myself’ necklaces. Beads and the cord are a choking hazard and the kits are NOT RECOMMENDED FOR YOUNG CHILDREN under the age of five. Store any unused materials from the kits out of reach, or safely discard.

If your necklace cord breaks, I am happy to restring it for you at no charge. Earrings are less easily repaired but you can inform me and I will see what I can do!
